Crowd Expedition is a two-year project in quest of the real added value of the Collaborative Economy. The Collaborative Economy is the umbrella name for practices such as crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, slacktivism, co-creation and the sharing economy. Part of this quest is to interview experts all over the world about these topics.
Circular Content joined the Crowd Expedition Expert Team and Core Team to
Train team members in specific sharing aspects during content production.
Example
A lot of interviews are being recorded by and for Crowd Expedition. All these video’s are being published on Youtube. While Youtube is a great medium to reach a potentially large audience and supports Creative Commons licenses, it does not support remixing content outside of Youtube. To make your own remix you’d have to screencapture the video. A pesky thing to do that requires custom software and can take quite some time.
To facilitate easy reuse by professionals, the source files would have to be made accessible in a high quality. The first plan was to use Dropbox to host the files, but then the Internet Archive offered to host all the raw footage from all camera’s used during an interview. So you can watch the videos on Youtube, but you can download all the files from Archive.org.
